Sleeping Disorder And Its Solution

Sleeping Disorder And Its Solution

Getting a good night’s sleep is very important to lead a healthy and active life.  Sleeping well is necessary not only for your physical health and outlook but also for mental well being and a happy countenance.  When you are tired and feel sluggish, you try to find a quiet corner where you can relax and spend some moments.
Many people face sleep disorders and are unable to get a good nights’ sleep that causes problems in their lives. They are unable to lead an active life and remain fit due to the constant fatigue they feel due to lack of sleep.  Sleep disorder should not be taken lightly, if it continues on regular basis for a long period of time as it can cause various health concerns.

Sleep Disorder – Problems It Can Cause

If you are not getting enough sleep or have a poor quality sleep at night, it can lead to disturbance in metabolism.  There are two nightly hormones known as ghrelin and leptin, both of which are related to appetite. The two hormones work together to control the hunger and how full you feel. The gastrointestinal tract produces ghrelin that stimulates the appetites and the fat cells produce leptin, that tells the brain when you are full.
When you do not get enough sleep, the proper production of these hormones can get disturbed and the leptin levels drop and the ghrelin level rises. This increases the appetite while reducing the
satisfaction which comes after eating.
Sleeping well provides body the energy to carry out all its tasks properly and controls this hunger-satisfaction process. Research has also proved that people who sleep less weight most as compared to people who get a good night’s sleep.

Solution to Sleeping Disorder

Everybody needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night to remain active and fit. If you have problems sleeping at night, the best way to is to adopt a night time routine that helps the body realize it time for bed. While there are many drugs that induce sleep, they are not a permanent solution and can prove to be addictive in the long run and even cause side effects.
Find ways to relax the body such as reading in bed, drinking a hot cup of milk or chocolate and meditation and avoid electronic devices like laptops, TV and i Phones that stimulate the brain and keep you awake.
Depending on your choice, go for some light music that lulls you to sleep or just relax and drift to sleep by telling your mind that it should rest now.  Sleep is very important not only for body but also for mind and if the mind does not rest, it will not be able to function properly. Finding solutions to sleeping disorders is very important to have a healthy and fit body and mind.

The Best Computer Tips and Tricks: Laptops

The Best Computer Tips and Tricks: Laptops

Make Your Own Power Plan

Windows laptops include a few preset power plans for maximizing battery life, but you can also customize your operating system's power-management features (in Windows XP, under Power Options in the Control Panel; in Vista, under Mobile PC in the Control Panel). Setting aggressive targets for when the display turns off and when the machine goes into sleep or hibernate mode will help your battery last longer.

Limit Your Connection

When you aren't actively using your notebook's Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WWAN, or other wireless connections, turn the radios off (via the hard switch, if your PC has one, or using the appropriate utility), so they don't run down the battery while they keep searching for a signal. Also, use USB-attached devices sparingly while you're mobile.

Track it down

Thousands of laptops are reported stolen every year. Our advice? Prepare for the worst by investing in tracking software like Absolute Software's Lojack for Laptops, CyberAngel Security, or the free TheLaptopLock. These utilities can pinpoint a registered notebook's location once it connects to the Web, increasing your chances of recovering your system.

Dim the display

A laptop's biggest battery-life-sucking component is its LCD display. To eke out more juice when you're off the plug, turn down your panel's brightness to the lowest level your eyes can stand. Most notebooks have a Function key combo—or even a dedicated hot key—for a quick crank-down. (You can also adjust brightness in Display Settings under Control Panel.)

Keep It Cool

Thanks to their small, cramped cases and tiny vents, laptops are prone to overheating. Unfortunately, using your notebook on your lap—or on top of a blanket that protects your lap from your scalding-hot notebook—can seriously stifle ventilation and make matters worse. To help keep temperatures in check, opt for a lap desk or a laptop cooling pad that won't conduct heat or block your laptop's vents.

Back Up Everything

Constant movement puts computer components at risk, and because of their portability, laptops suffer a lot more wear and tear than desktops. All of that on-the-go use increases the risk of hard drive failure, so make sure you back up the data on your laptop to an external hard drive, thumb drive, or home server on a regular basis. Portable hard drives like the Western Digital Passport Elite make it easy to back up your data on the road.

Cover Your Keyboard

Keep liquids away from laptops at all times. That rule often gets broken, of course, and accidents happen. Should that accident end up on your laptop's keyboard, however, you could end up with more than just a mess: Liquids that seep through your notebook's keys can fry its components. Protect your notebook from spills with a custom-built, plastic keyboard cover from ProtecT Laptop Covers.

Buy a Bag

If you plan to carry your notebook with you, the most useful accessory you can buy is a laptop bag. They're available in a number of styles and prices; for maximum protection, we recommend investing in a model with a built-in padded sleeve. If you want something less conspicuous (thieves have been known to target obvious-looking laptop bags), cover your laptop in stand-alone sleeve and stow it in your backpack or briefcase.

Let It Accumulate

When you move your laptop from a cold to a warm environment, and vice versa, don't boot up until your system reaches room temperature. Sudden temperature changes can cause condensation to build up inside the notebook case; turn it on too quickly, and the moisture could damage your system's inner components.

Who are the Pathans?

Who are the Pathans?

I Proud To Be Pashtoon

The Pathans live in Northern Pakistan and Afghanistan. The group is made up of some 60 Pushto-speaking tribes. The Pathans, also known as Pakhtuns, Pashtuns, Pushtuns, and Pakhtoons, number some 10 million in Pakistan and some 8 million in Afghanistan. They make up the largest ethnocultural group in Afghanistan.

The Pathans comprise distinct groups. Some live as nomads in the high mountains with herds of goats and camels; others, such as those living in the Swat Valley, are farmers; and still others are traders or seasonal laborers. However, this ethnographic description defies the fact that they constitute more than 20% of Pakistan's armed forces and dominate Pakistan's transportation industry and have provided the most popular Pakistani president Ayub Khan who lead the major industrialization movement which Pakistan has seen in the last 54 years.

The British attacked the Pathans in the late 19th and early 20th century. They were finally forced to offer the Pathans a semiautonomous area between the border of British India and Afghanistan. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, the new nation annexed the Pathan border regions.

In the early 1950s, the Soviet Union through Afghanistan supported Pathan ambitions for the creation of an independent Pushtunistan (also called Pakhtunistan) in the border areas of West Pakistan. Several border clashes and ruptures of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan ensued. The movement was never able to gain popular support considering that Pathans in Pakistan were always better off than Pathans in Afghanistan.

Pathans also helped liberate the part of Kashmir which is now under Pakistan's control. Their support and hospitality to more than four million Afghan refugees was crucial in Afghan's liberation from the Soviet Union.

The Pathans are known as people who are brave, simple, and sincere in their dealings with others. They are noted as fierce fighters, and throughout history they have offered strong resistance to invaders. They staunchly hold on to their cultural traditions and connect with one another in a visceral way.

Most are guided by a tribal code of ethics, Pakhtunwali, or "way of the Pakhtun (Pathan)." Tribal customs and traditions make up the biggest part of the Pathan society. The tenets of Pakhtunwali show the true essence of Pathan culture and these rules are followed religiously. It incorporates the following major practices: "melmastia" (hospitality and protection to every guest); "nanawati" (the right of a fugitive to seek a place of refuge, and acceptance of his bona fide offer of peace); "badal" (the right of blood feuds or revenge); "tureh" (bravery); "sabar" (steadfastness); "imandari" (righteousness); "'isteqamat" (persistence); "ghayrat" (defense of property and honor); and "mamus" (defense of one's women).

World’s First Movable City Powers Up in Antarctica

World’s First Movable City Powers Up in Antarctica

City Powers
First Movable City
How do you turn a tiny science-city at the far end of the earth into a flexible biosphere capable of skating around vast fields of ice with up to 90 m.p.h. winds and temperatures that can drop below 100 degrees F?

Like this: Imagine something that’s a squatter, bluer version of the sandcrawler in Star Wars, multiplied sevenfold, with each structure linked like train cars. Now perch it high above the ground on hydraulically elevated legs that are capped off with ski-like “feet.” Finally, place this bizarre-sounding “centipede city” somewhere in a beautifully austere, wind-scoured snowscape — say, Antarctica — and you get Halley VI, the world’s first perambulatory municipality. A moveable city.

Well, maybe calling it a “research center” would be more accurate, because that’s it’s main purpose on the floating ice shelf just 900 miles or so from the South Pole itself. Credit goes to British design outfit Hugh Broughton Architects, who pulled the $41 million project together after winning an international competition for a “self-sufficient scientific research base.”

And yes, it can actually move, though not under its own power: It has to be towed by bulldozers. According to the designers, the hydraulic legs allow each module to climb up out of the annually occurring snow, which would otherwise leave the research structures buried.

Modularity and mobility were essential toward winning the contract: The ice shelf Halley VI rests on moves 1300 feet each year into the sea, thus the need to periodically haul it back inland. And breaking the station into component sections — labs, sleeping quarters, energy centers and recreation areas — allows it to be rearranged at will.

All practicality aside, if you just squint a little, you can almost see this thing popping up, George Lucas-CGI-rethink-style, in one of the The Empire Strikes Back‘s opening scenes.
